  • Why take private lessons?
Music education can build coordination and concentration; develop discipline and perseverance; activate creative thinking, problem solving, self-expression and self-confidence. Private lessons provide one-on-one attention in a safe environment that allows you to explore your individual skills and technique while having fun in the process!
  • Who are private lessons good for?
Everybody! I teach children and adults at all ages and levels. Private lessons are not just for beginners or students who may need extra help to improve; they are also ideal for intermediate and advanced players looking to receive individualized instruction to progress further and stay challenged—those just wanting to play for personal enjoyment, too!
  • Where and when are flute lessons?
Flute lessons take place in my home studio in Avalon, Orléans and are scheduled Tuesdays through Saturdays once per week. Daytime, afternoon, and evening times are available.
  • Will you travel to my home to teach me flute lessons?
Unfortunately, no. My teaching schedule does not currently enable me to travel outside of my home studio for flute lessons.
  • What do you charge for flute lessons?
Please contact me for detailed information about lesson rates and payment options.
  • What styles of music do you teach?
I teach primarily classical music, but aim to provide you with the necessary tools to be able to play any style of music that you choose—jazz, Celtic, popular, etc. Need help with your school band or orchestra music? I can teach that as well!
  • What should I bring to my flute lessons?
My students are expected to provide their own flute and any books or music that we are working on. You should also have a pencil, a notebook, a metronome, and a tuner.
  • What if I'm running late to my flute lesson?
Please call or text to let me know if you are running behind schedule. Note that I often back my student lessons up to one another and may not be able to extend your lesson if you are late.
  • Do you teach other flutes? (i.e. pan flute, bansuri, etc.)"
No. The transverse C flute is my specialty.
